Dear Residents, Families & Staff,
Happy August to everyone!! Let’s hope and pray for some cooler temps and rain this month!! It’s sad to see the crops and grass dying; we definitely need some good, soaking rains.
There is one day we want clear skies and that’s on “Fun Day.” It is our annual “Fundraiser” where we raise funds to purchase Christmas gifts for all our residents. This special event will be held on Saturday, September 17 th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on our front lawn and in the lobby. We will have a silent auction, food, bake sale, inflatables for the children and many other added attractions. See our flyer printed in this newsletter. As always, we would appreciate donations of items, gift cards or even money to help with the silent auction. Our“Activity Fund” which is used for our residents’ Christmas gifts, outings and purchase of special need items has been designated as a “Charitable Organization.” We can, therefore, accept donations and conduct fund-raising for this fund. We can definitely use volunteers so please consider spending a few hours to help us make “Fun Day” a huge success!! If you’re “crafty” or can make a homemade cake, pie or goodies, we would love your help!!
Back to August, the activities staff have been busy taking residents on outings to eat, shopping, etc. and this will continue with a couple of evening outings and a couple of van rides already scheduled. Join us for National Cookie Day on August 4 th . We’ll have some wonderful fresh-baked cookies around 3:00 pm!! On August 9 th & 10 th , let’s participate in “Senior Olympics”, outside if we can stand the heat!! In case you haven’t noticed, we now have the Peach Bucks Cart and you can purchase items with your Peach Bucks. Residents earn “Peach Bucks” by coming to activities, being helpful to other residents, etc. our own Amanda Knowles will be singing for us on August 18 th at 2:00 pm outside. Go Amanda!! Hawaiian Day is on August 23 rd , anyone know how to do the “Hula”?? National Cherry Popsicle Day is on August 26 th , join us for popsicles at 2:30 pm on that day!! Homemade ice cream will be served on August 30 th at 2:30 pm – YUMMY!! If you have musical groups or others at your church or within your civic group who would like to visit, have special entertainment, etc. for our residents, let us know! We’re always on the lookout for something new to do or be a part of!!
Thank you for your support of Peachtree, we have awesome residents, staff and volunteers!!!
As always, keep us in your prayers.
