Dear Residents Families and Staff,

Happy New Year!! May you be blessed with good health and happy times with family and friends this year!! I hope everyone had a good Christmas. The parties here were fun with a visit from Santa, gift-giving and great food!! Thanks to all who helped to bring joy to our residents in whatever role you played in getting ready for Christmas. Some shopped, some decorated, some got residents ready, some helped cook, some set up tables and chairs and some helped with whatever they were asked to do!! Thank you!!

January will hopefully bring us some snow, it’s so beautiful to watch falling. It makes you want some hot chocolate and a fireplace!! Some of the month’s special activities will be listed on the calendar. Elvis Day will be held on Friday, January 6 th , get out those “Blue Suede Shoes” and let’s dance! A Banana Split Social will be held on Wednesday, January 11 th in the afternoon, Yummy! Join the Activities crew on January 12 th for a “Tea Party” at 2:30pm on Units 1 & 2 and then at 3:00 pm for Units 3 & 4. We will honor Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Social on January 16 th . On Wednesday, January 18 th the Drama Club from Gaffney High School will be on Unit 1 to perform. Dolly Parton Day will be held on January 19 th at 2:30 pm on Units 1 & 2 and 3:00 pm on Units 3 & 4. What a beautiful voice she has, are we going to have someone in to sing like her?? It’s a surprise, I guess!! Wear your funny, crazy hats on Friday, January 20 th . Let’s see who can have the most unique hat (nothing vulgar, please) !!

National Activity Professionals Week is observed January 23 rd – 27 th , please convey your appreciation to our dedicated Activities Staff!! In case you didn’t know yet, we have a new Activities Director whose name is Jamie McDaniel. Please make her feel welcome and be sure to let her know if you have suggestions for new activities!! She will definitely welcome volunteers, come and join our wonderful team!!
